Storm Necklace I just can’t get enough of Tania Grey’s lampwork focals, and this one is a real stunner, with a stormy heart encased in crystal clear glass. The Dark Side of the Orangery Seed bead and sterling silver necklace featuring another fabulous lampwork glass bead by Emma Ralph, an orphan from her ‘Orangery’ set. This bead proved to have a distinct ‘dark side’ and refused to be teamed up with the bright citrus colours originally planned for it; instead the pewter colour of the surface stringerwork took over, resulting in a much more grownup and restrained design. click on thumbnail to see larger image joannaburyphotography.com |

Starfish cuff My favourite bracelet! Its made from random peyote lavishly fringed with tiny beads and embellished with shell, mother of pearl and a peyote stitched starfish. The starfish is adapted from a design by Dulcey Heller and is made with size 15 beads, the smallest generally available. Each bead is individually stitched to its neighbours; the starfish alone takes over an hour to make.
